What is Botox Cosmetic?
Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein. It is a nonsurgical treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 to 65 years of age. During treatment, very low doses of Botox Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between the brows, along the forehead, and crow’s feet around the eyes.
Are Botox treatments painful?
Botox treatments are minimally invasive and nonsurgical. They require no recovery time and cause little discomfort to our Charlotte Botox patients.
How soon will I see a difference?
You can expect to see results within days after your treatment. The appearance of the areas treated may continue to improve for up to a week.
How long does Botox last?
Visible results can last up to four months. After that, you may be ready to return for a follow-up treatment.
Is Botox Cosmetic safe?
Yes. Botox Cosmetic has been used therapeutically for over 17 years. The same formulation received FDA approval in 2002 for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows.
Will Botox leave me with a frozen face?
Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox Cosmetic does not make you look like “you’ve had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.
